When Amanda "MiMi" Stirn and her family moved from Spokane, Wash., to the sunny paradise of the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area, it sparked an inspiration inside her in which she was determined to put onto canvas. With beautiful, deep colored sunsets and sunrises, along with a bountiful of natural scenes and colors, the Florida landscape motivated Stirn to kick her artist talents into high gear, resulting in a liftoff of exposure for her work.

Cape Coral, Fla: October 28, 2014, Local Artist, MiMi Stirn takes her second 1st place prize within the past month. Mimi says “This last contest was both a privilege, honor, and a painting close to my heart. I am just thankful so many fans appreciate the artwork and the cause” Fine Arts America launched a contest to for the best work of art to support breast cancer awareness on October 21, 2014. MiMi Stirn had just recently finished the 1st place painting derived as a memorial for her grandmother who passed away from breast cancer and to celebrate her mother’s life because she too battled breast cancer, twice, and survived. Local Cape Coral Artist, MiMi Stirn, Wins National/International Fine Arts America Abstract Art Competition

Cape Coral, FL – MiMi Stirn, known to friends as Amanda Stirn, entered into a Fine Arts America abstract art competition on September 12th. The competition was open to voters around the world, and included the works of national and international artists. On Tuesday, September 17, 2014 MiMi received the news she won 1st place among over 2,200 participating artists. Her Hoolandia© Hoopunked - Steampunk - Phoenix Owl Rising was the winner. MiMi works from her studio in her Cape Coral. She was accepted into the 2014 Cape Coral Festival of the Arts and held her premier showing of her copyrighted works “Hoolandia©” in January 2014.
